Season 5 – 2011

Draws, draws and more damned draws.

No match against Grêmio in the first Group Stage of the State Championships for a change, though we were drawn with perennial champions Internacional. A poor start saw us take just one point from the first three games which included a frankly humiliating 4-1 thrashing by São José (they would also beat us 2-1 in the return match). Winning five of the remain seven fixtures saw us scrape through to the next stage, however there was no masking the fact that once again we had under-achieved in the early stage and only progressed due to a degree of luck.

 

Season 4 – 2010

A close shave.

The State Championships saw us grouped with Grêmio (again) and four other teams who should have been there to make up the numbers. It didn’t quite turn out that way as Gaúcho beat us home and away to take some of the gloss off our first victory over Grêmio. Ultimately, we finished third in the group and were disappointed not to have topped it.

 

Season 3 – 2009

Hi-ho Silva.

The State Championships drew us against bogey side Grêmio once again, though they were the only side expected to cause us any problems – reaching the play-off stage for the third season running would be a formality.

 

Season 2 – 2008

A Fractured Season.

The State Championship First Round Group draw gave us a favourable set of opponents once more with Grêmio being the only club in the group to be considered bigger than ourselves. However, as every game at State Championship level is effectively a derby, the occasional upset is always on the cards and so it proved to be as we were beaten in our own stadium by Ulbra.

 

Season 1 – 2007

Before I start the run through of the first season of my career I should probably point out that the outline I gave of Caxias appears to have been mistakenly assumed to be a club guide. That wasn’t the intention and it’s certainly my fault for not making it clear that the intention was to actually outline the position at each of the clubs that I’ll be managing throughout my career in FM07.
